there seem to be two main modes of thinking when it comes to lesbian sexuality in modern lgbt politics and they go something like this:

1)  if you’re a lesbian and you wouldn’t date a trans woman you’re a t///e//rf with literal blood on your hands, and

2) if you’re a trans woman dating a cis lesbian, you’re a homophobe with literal blood on your hands

Both modes of thinking imo are extremely black and white, untruthful, and do nothing but alienate and damage extremely marginalized groups of people

I think if we’re to move forward, we need to acknowledge the existence of a multiplicity of truths, otherwise the community is in enormous trouble.

The question “why wouldn’t i date a trans person” is an important one, imo.  Our society is filled with prejudices about trans people and it’s important to check ourselves in this regard.  Jokes about trans people (usually trans women) “tricking” straight men into sexual encounters are more than common place.  If you don’t believe transphobia exists you’re being extremely intellectually dishonest about a fundamental truth of our society.

On the other hand, society treats lesbian sexuality as practically non-existent, or existent only as a costume straight women put on for the benefit of straight men.  The society in which we live does not make it easy for women to authentically discover if they’re lesbians or not.  If a woman tells you they’re a lesbian, they’ve already examined themselves hundreds of times and have come to a firm, undeniable conclusion about themselves.

I’m a lesbian, and physical “sameness” in regards to sex is extremely important to me – in cruder terms pussy makes me feel really really good, and dick makes me feel really really bad.  If you’ve questioned your sexuality thousands of times and have come this firm conclusion, then that should be respected, and not questioned or wheedled or ridiculed.  

On the other hand, I can understand that other people experience sexuality in different ways than I do, and that should be respected as well.  The community needs to understand that both types of people can exist, and telling either group to “unlearn” their innate sexuality is beyond damaging.

Saying that lesbians who want pleasurable sex are “vagina fetishists” is disgusting.  Saying you know a woman’s sexuality better than they do and that not liking dick is just an unlearnable aspect of one’s personality is homophobic.  Comparing lesbians to klansmen is disgusting.  You’re not making clever “gotchas xD”.  You’re not smashing transmisogyny.  You’re just treating marginalized women like shit.  Cis women who like pussy have never had, and probably will never have any power in this world.  Cis lesbians have never had their sexuality validated by society.  We’ve been violated and institutionalized for our sexuality.

You can’t advocate for sex positivity and consent, but then cultivate an environment where women can’t discuss what makes them physically uncomfortable, and then act as if wanting a certain kind of sex is disgusting and fetishizing.

tl:dr society hates trans people as well as cis lesbians and your posts about hating either aren’t as #woke as you think they are.  Let marginalized people speak about their desires and disgusts.  be mindful of others in your community.  don’t wait on other groups of people to validate your own personal identity.

“I don’t date trans women” is such a generalized statement though, usually followed by assumptions that every trans woman wants cis lesbians to have missionary sex & blowjobs with them.
